There are over 40 scientists and engineers working to develop home cardiology diagnostic products at SMI. Their skills range from considerable electrochemistry and immunoassay experience through to in-depth microfluidic design and large scale manufacturing equipment development.
The labs were outfitted in the summer of 2005 and since then have continued to get busier as more technical staff have joined the organisation. Currently, we have over 12,000 square feet of lab space, space for prototyping and manufacture.
The ethos within the technical groups has always been to focus on delivering real life solutions to the problems faced during the day to day activities that come with a rapid paced product delivery programme. In parallel we consistently look to protect the intellectual property that arises from the work undertaken. After all, anyone can have an idea but turning it into reality is what makes all the difference!
