You are looking at the employees who have made Stirling Medical Innovations Ltd. the great place that it is. We started up on the 1st Apr 2005 and have received brilliant support from ITI Life Sciences and our parent company Inverness Medical Innovations, Inc., whose head office is in Waltham, near Boston, USA, and who manufacture and market consumer and professional medical diagnostic products across the world. We are into near-patient diagnostics in the area of cardiovascular disease. This has never been done before so it’s a really cool and exciting area for us. At SMI it's not just what we do that it is important, but how we do it as well. We place huge importance on behaviors and on acting in a way that will create a great place to work.

We are clearly different. Our vision is: "Clearly different, delivering transformational cardiology products, exciting the world and enhancing lives". As a team, we all took part in creating this vision statement. It reminds us that we feel passionately about making a difference to peoples' lives. We are really proud about everything that we have accomplished so far and we will be delighted when we deliver products that enhance the lives of people who are suffering from chronic heart disease.

The success that we've had so far has been incredible. Although we are still developing our product, the 52 folks here at SMI have been given loads of feedback on the great work that we have all been doing. Technically, we are breaking new ground and have made massive in-roads relatively quickly into developing our products. Culturally, many of the things that we have in place such as our WHAM (What and How About Me), our coaching and our personal leadership development course 'Be Me', has been hailed across the IMI organisation as cutting edge, exciting and a role model for the way forward.

Location

Our building is in a fantastic spot within Stirling University Innovation Park, http://www.suip.co.uk/ , right opposite the Wallace Monument . From here we can walk down to the university campus which is great. It's also easy to get to Glasgow and Edinburgh for culture, clubbing or catching flights to anywhere in the world.
